About DejaVu Design.....

Laura Levitt is the  driving force of
DejaVu Design
along with ;

  • ~ Nancy  ~
  • ~ LiNda~
  • ~ sUsAn~
  • ~ gARrEtT

and alot of other people who contribute their help  and support to this  little "empire".

Laura has a background in international wholesale; primarily in developing baskets , garden items and furniture.

After 15 years of travelling for work to China, the Phillipines, VietNam and Europe, she has decided to "walk the talk" and make a conscious effort to promote and create a new company, focused on recycling textiles .

Sustainable innovation ;
it's now or never.

Aim to be authentic.

In the creation of DejaVu Design Recycled Textiles, the mandate most important is as follows:

·         ecological ,

·        environmentally responsible,

·         Unique and useful.

·        with creative and whimsical design

The sewing studio is located just outside the
rural village of Hillsburgh Ontario.

It is about 700 sq ft and is a bright and inspiring space.
I have "accumulated " 5 sewing machines,
a large cutting table, (with plenty of textiles),
and a small office.

Sewing and textiles have been a lifelong passion for me.
( just ask my Mom..... )

As mass production increases, clothing and household excess also increases.

There are few people who don’t know someone with a basement full of fantastic things that are too good to give or throw away.

As “boomers” age, the younger generation “inherits” this bounty of goods.

Some recent statistics suggest that 8% of landfill is textile based.
